High School After School Native Lacrosse.

Discover Takápsičapi, the traditional Dakota style of lacrosse native to Mni Sótá Makóče
(Minnesota). Offered in partnership with Twin Cities Native Lacrosse, this course
introduces high school students (grades 9–12) to the rich history, cultural significance,
and dynamic gameplay of the Creator’s Game. Participants will move beyond modern
field lacrosse to learn traditional Great Lakes single-stick mechanics, ball movement,
and the holistic medicine game traditions of Dakota ancestors. Through hands-on
athletic training, teamwork, and cultural storytelling, students will strengthen their
physical wellness, build community, and connect with living Indigenous traditions.
