New1-3 Year Olds (12-42 Months)Age Group ClassesEach week, children and parents will spend time together engaging in play, creativity, and exploration. As the class continues, parents will begin to separate from their children for a portion of the session, gradually increasing this time each week in a separate space for discussion and support. While children remain in the Early Childhood room participating in play-based learning with our skilled educators, parent discussions will cover a range of topics, including child development, temperament, discipline, parenting strategies, and other subjects chosen by the group. NewParent Book Club: "The Anxious Generation" by Jonathan Haidt - Online CourseOnline ClassesJoin ECFE’s fall book club to discuss "The Anxious Generation" by acclaimed social psychologist Jonathan Haidt. The book investigates the link between ‘overprotection’ in the real world and ‘underprotection’ in the virtual world. A healthy relationship with technology begins early, and it helps to have a community with which you can feel confident setting expectations and norms for your family. We will dig into the book to understand the research on technology and mental health, and identify ‘guilt free’ action steps parents can take to foster children’s independence and overall well-being. Our Night Owl Preschool provides families the opportunities to experience preschool together. Children will work on curriculum-based school readiness skills including problem solving, interacting with peers, beginning math and literacy. This class includes parent and child time on Tuesday evenings. Parents move to a separate room for discussion on development, age-related concerns and preparing your child for school. Pop-Up Parent Ed: Tackling ToiletingOnline ClassesNewJoin a licensed Parent Educator online for topic-specific information based on research. Feel free to enjoy your lunch with your camera on or off. You will leave with take-away tips to add to your parenting toolbox. After the 30-minute class the parent educator will take questions for those who choose to stay up to 15 additional minutes. Participants will receive a follow-up email including resources and responses to all inquiries. Tackling Toileting - Learn how to recognize where your child is on the readiness spectrum and what signs to look for throughout this process. You’ll gain practical guidance, developmental insight, and supportive strategies to help your child move forward with confidence and reduce stress along the way.
