4Kicks Family Taekwondo (Ages 4-7)Recreation & SportsTaekwondo is a fun, family activity and great for students of all ages! Under the instruction of Patricia Young with the American Taekwondo Association, students will improve their coordination, balance, strength, and agility while adults will benefit from improved memory, balance, and flexibility. This is an introductory course for students new to Taekwondo. Students who wish to continue Taekwondo lessons after completing this course should contact 4Kicks Family Taekwondo for further information. One adult may attend and participate with the child at no extra charge. Classes are held at 4Kicks Taekwondo, 4915 Hwy 52 NW, Frontage Road, on the north side of the Slumberland building. Driveway entrance is between Slumberland and State Farm, and the door is between the Detour Athletics door and the Slumberland pick-up door. **Students should bring a bottle of water and wear gym-type clothing to class. Pre-recorded slides and videos from Advantage instructors guide students through strategies, techniques, drills, and intensive subject matter reviews that help increase scores on the ACT. Once enrolled, students will be sent an access code for their class via email. This code will allow them to access course material anytime. Students may also repeat this course at no extra charge. Please use your Google email account as the primary email address when registering. CABS: Child & Babysitting Safety (Gr. 4-12)Health & SafetyThe Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) program from the American Safety and Health Institute provides everything you need to know for safe and successful babysitting. The YouTube “vlogger-style" presentation of the video brings a youthful and high-energy spirit to the program content along with handouts, demonstrations, and additional resources. At the end of class the students will receive their certification card along with instructions to access a digital copy of the Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) Student book. From getting started with your business and collaborating with parents and children to key safety, caregiving, and first aid tips, CABS will help set you up for babysitting success! Students must be present for the entire class and complete achievement of the core learning objectives to receive certification valid for two years. Chromatic Rhythm Winter GuardMiddle School Activities & SportsWelcome to the first ever Rochester Schools Winter Guard! “Winter Guard is the sport of indoor Color Guard.” - Winter Guard International (WGI).Color Guard are the performers in marching band who spin, flags, rifles, sabers, other props and dance. They are the visual interpretation of music. The Winter Guard is just the Color Guard performing to recorded music and usually performed in a big gym. This group is made up of high school students from Rochester that will compete in the North Start Circuit.Never have done color guard before? No problem. We welcome all levels! Crossovers & Conversations: Girls Basketball Camp (Gr. 6-10)Recreation & SportsBasketball and Health Crossovers & Conversations is a program designed to combine elite basketball training with discussions about health topics relevant to teens. We have a team of excellent coaches who have competed at the collegiate level and coached internationally. This two-day camp includes basketball training sessions and health discussions. This camp will feature a discussion and hands-on training about Narcan, including when and how to use it, as well as a discussion about communication and how effective communication applies both on the basketball court and in everyday life.
