Mayo Planetarium's “60 Years of the Mayo Planetarium!”
Celebrate 60 years of the Mayo Planetarium! Opened in 1966, the Mayo Planetarium is marking its 60th anniversary with a special event you won’t want to miss. Join former planetarium directors, local leaders, and members of the community as they share stories, showcase demonstrations, and reflect on how the planetarium has evolved over the decades.
After the program, enjoy a small social gathering—perfect for connecting with others who share a love of astronomy and local history.

Ben Joslin
Instructor
Ben Joslin is the Director of Rochester Public School’s Planetarium at Mayo High School. He graduated with a degree in science education from the University of Arizona and has a graduate degree from Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota. He has been teaching Earth and Space science since 2005, and has been the planetarium director since 2022.
