Mayo Planetarium's “Skies of the Southern Hemisphere”
Have you ever been to Australia, South Africa, Chile, or Antarctica? If so, you may have noticed that the night sky is not the same as here in rochesterschools, MN! Come learn about the constellations and deep sky objects that you can only see in the skies of Earth’s southern hemisphere! Suggested ages 10 and up. Please enter through door #6 at Mayo High School.
Ben Joslin
Instructor
Ben Joslin is the Director of Rochester Public School’s Planetarium at Mayo High School. He graduated with a degree in science education from the University of Arizona and has a graduate degree from Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota. He has been teaching Earth and Space science since 2005, and has been the planetarium director since 2022.
