Crossovers & Conversations: Boys Basketball Camp (Gr. 7-9)Recreation & SportsBasketball and Health Crossovers & Conversations is a program designed to combine elite basketball training with discussions about health topics relevant to teens. We have a team of excellent coaches who have competed at the collegiate level and coached internationally. This two-day camp includes basketball training sessions and health discussions. This camp will feature discussions on Nutrition for the Athlete and Championship Level Communication. Our nutrition talk will cover the importance of nutrition on performance, recovery, and overall health. Our communication talk will identify core traits of being a great teammate, allow participants to engage with challenging situations requiring respect and good communication, and challenge participants to recognize that the same skills apply to being a great friend, partner, and community member. K-5)Recreation & SportsGolf Squad is an afterschool enrichment program that brings golf professionals from your local area to your school campus to give a once-a-week lesson to the students. We focus on teaching the fundamentals of the game of golf which include putting, chipping, full swing irons, and full swing woods, as well as help develop valuable life lessons such as relationship building, proper etiquette, and rules of the game. NewLittle Spikers Volleyball BasicsRecreation & SportsLittle Spikers Volleyball Basics is designed for new and beginner volleyball players to learn and improve the basic skills of serving, passing, setting, and spiking. Students will be using a special lightweight volleyball for beginners to help them develop the proper technique. In addition to skills, rules and strategies of the game will be covered. The course is also open to fencers seeking to refine their abilities in an open practice format. Participants must provide their own fencing equipment or pay an additional $30 equipment fee on the first day of class. These classes focus on having fun on the ice while safely learning basic movements and fundamentals of skating. Instructors use the Learn2Skate USA curriculum which is sanctioned by U.S. Figure Skating and USA Hockey. Skate rental is available for $3.00 per class and must be paid for the entire session on the first day of class.
