Introduction to the ForgeArts and CraftsThis course will introduce students to the basic techniques of the blacksmith. If you are curious about forging and want to learn more, this course is for you. We will demonstrate skills and then have you practice what you have learned. The course will discuss the history of blacksmithing, forging safety, fire building and tending, and types of fuel. Hammering techniques will be discussed. Students will craft small items such as hooks and fire pokers. Instructor will provide: all necessary equipment, supplies, beverages, and snacks. The program provides a safe, nurturing environment where children can feel they are significant and they belong. Our goal of the School Age Child Care Program is to provide a variety of developmentally appropriate activities including arts/crafts, STEM activities, self-directed play, field trips, library, tech time, physical activities (indoor/outdoor), community service, and to offer an environment where homework is encouraged. You will register for summer and school year care separately based on your family needs. Registrations are reviewed in the order they are received in our online system and can take up to ten (10) business days to process.
