NewRailroad Spike KnifeArts and CraftsRailroad spikes serve many purposes in the world of blacksmithing, but now you can take it to the next level by making your own railroad spike knife! In this one-day class, you will learn shop safety, twisting the handle, forging the blade, shaping, quenching, beveling, and putting on an edge. By the end of this class, each student will have completed their own railroad spike knife to take home. Blacksmithing experience is helpful, but not required. Instructor will provide: all necessary equipment, supplies, beverages, and snacks. You will need to wear/bring: long pants, leather shoes (boots preferred), safety glasses/hearing protection, face mask, and your lunch. Rochester Figure Skating Club: Learn2Skate Snowplow Sam (Ages 4-6 Years)SportsBeginner ice skating lessons will be offered for our newest skaters. These classes focus on having fun on the ice while safely learning basic movements and fundamentals of skating. Instructors use the Learn2Skate USA curriculum which is sanctioned by U.S. Figure Skating and USA Hockey. Skate rental is available for $3.00 per class. Payment for all rentals must be paid in full at the first session of class. It is strongly recommended that participants wear a helmet during class, and skaters must provide their own helmet. Rooted in Charm: Beaded Wire TreeArts and CraftsNewCreate a whimsical miniature tree nestled inside a repurposed tea cup in this creative mixed-media workshop. Participants will learn how to shape wire branches, attach colorful beads as leaves or blossoms, and build a one-of-a-kind decorative tree. Using an upcycled tea cup adds extra character and makes each piece uniquely charming. This project blends sculpture, wirework, and imagination into a keepsake full of personality. NewRooted in Stone: Agate Slice Beaded Wire TreeArts and CraftsDesign a striking wire tree sculpture rooted on a beautiful agate slice in this nature-inspired workshop. Participants will learn how to twist and shape wire into a tree form, then add beads to create colorful leaves or seasonal accents. The agate base adds natural texture and makes each piece uniquely beautiful. Participants will take home a completed beaded wire tree on an agate slice.
